Wrapping a Condolence Money Envelope for a Sad Occasion (Hidari Zutsumi)

Wrapping a Condolence Money Envelope for a Sad Occasion (Hidari Zutsumi)

1. Place a traditional envelope for condolence money (koden-bukuro) at the center of a small furoshiki (reverse side), oriented toward two corners, as shown.
2. Fold the right side over the envelope.
3. Fold up the bottom part.
4. Fold down the top part. (In 3 and 4, any part of the furoshiki extending beyond the envelope should be folded under so that the visible portion matches the size of the envelope.)
5. Finally, fold the left side across and continue any excess around to the back.
